Sherilyn Annette Beard Obituary
Sherilyn Annette Beard, age 57, passed away peacefully, Friday, September 18, 2026, after a lengthy and courageous battle with early-onset dementia. She was born July 30, 1969, to the late Donnie and Carol Ann Beard of Port Lavaca, TX. Sherilyn’s greatest joy was her son, Easton. Her life revolved around him, and she was, without a doubt, his biggest fan. From the time he was old enough to walk, she could be found cheering him on from the sidelines. She loved watching him play sports and followed his journey with tremendous pride and love.
Sherilyn was a lifelong educator who devoted her career to teaching special-needs children. She brought an extraordinary amount of patience, compassion, and happiness into her classroom. Her love for her students was easy to see. The smile on her face whenever she talked about them said everything about how much they meant to her. She spent 25 years coaching volleyball and softball, with most of those years in Dripping Springs, Texas. Coaching was more than a job or an activity for Sherilyn; it was another opportunity to encourage young people, teach them about teamwork and perseverance, and help them believe in themselves. She invested her time and energy in her athletes and became someone they could look up to both on and off the field. Whether she was sitting in the stands watching Easton play, working with one of her students, or standing on a volleyball court or softball field coaching her athletes, Sherilyn was happiest when she was helping and supporting others. She had a special gift for making people feel that they mattered.
Sherilyn leaves behind a legacy that reaches far beyond her immediate family. She touched the lives of countless students, athletes, friends, and family members throughout the years. Her love for her family, her dedication to her students, and her commitment to the young people she coached will remain a lasting part of her story.
Sherilyn is survived by her spouse, RJ Treybig; son, Easton Bauer and his wife, Anna; grandchildren, Ben, Andie, and Margaret Bauer; brother, Robert Beard; sister, Nancy Webb; sister-in-law, Angie Beard; nephews Chris Webb, Garrett Beard, Brett Beard, and Drew Beard; nieces Jamie Webb and Ashlyn Beard; and great-nieces Caidyn Beard and Calia Webb.

It is always appropriate, and often times recommended, sending flowers or plants to the family after the funeral services are over. During this period, phone calls and words of comfort taper off. Then, the heartfelt pain of a death in the family is really experienced for the first time. The arrival of a beautiful bouquet or living plant can be so uplifting during this stage of grief and loneliness. Realizing that others still care and remember even weeks after the services can be great comfort to those in mourning. |
