Nancy Ralls Orcutt Obituary

                                                                                      In Loving Memory

Nancy Sue (Ralls) Orcutt went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on May 20, 1946, in Victoria, Texas, to the late Jewell Benton and Ozelle (Bedwell) Ralls, Nancy was the eighth of eleven children. Being part of a large family was a gift that she treasured.

Nancy graduated from Victoria High School in 1964 and attended Victoria College. During her school years, she was a cheerleader, was selected as several class “favorites” and “queen”. The endearing qualities she graciously shared with her classmates shone brightly throughout her life, exemplified by her kindness, dignity and grace. She was the epitome of a lady.

Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend whose life was marked by resilience, determination, and deep care for the people she loved. Married on May 11, 1968, she shared 58 years of marriage with the love of her life, William (Hoody), and together they built an extraordinary marriage centered on family, hard work, and commitment through every season of life. Their bond endured through decades of change, joy, growth and challenges with unwavering devotion.

She was an amazing mother of two whose presence shaped her children's lives in lasting ways, and a grandmother whose family will continue to carry her memory forward. The love at the center of who she was remained deeply felt by those closest to her. Nancy will be remembered for the familiar routines and traditions, conversations, expressions of joy, and special moments that made her uniquely herself.

Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Hood Orcutt; her parents, Jewell Benton and Ozelle Bedwell Ralls; her sisters, Joy Ralls Harlow and Gayle Ralls Leur; her brothers, Monte R. Ralls, Bobby G. Ralls, Jewell Benton Ralls, Jr., and Bill D. Ralls.

She is survived by her devoted children, Stacey Lynn (Orcutt) Porter and Jeffrey Hood Orcutt; her cherished grandchildren, Grace Elizabeth Porter and Jacob McAdam Porter; her sisters, Patsy Ralls Price (Jack) and Molly Ralls Summerlin; her brothers, John W. Ralls (Barbara) and Kenneth Ralls; her sister-in-law, Donna Lynn (Orcutt) Lancaster (Gerald); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and all who knew and loved her.

The family would like to express gratitude to Hospice of South Texas and all who offered support, prayers, and kindness during her final chapter.

Visitation with the family will be held at Fellowship of the Crossroads Church in Victoria, Texas, on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with funeral services celebrating Nancy’s life following at 2:00 p.m. at the same location. Order Funeral Flowers Now
It is always appropriate, and often times recommended, sending flowers or plants to the family after the funeral services are over. During this period, phone calls and words of comfort taper off. Then, the heartfelt pain of a death in the family is really experienced for the first time. The arrival of a beautiful bouquet or living plant can be so uplifting during this stage of grief and loneliness. Realizing that others still care and remember even weeks after the services can be great comfort to those in mourning.
