OBITUARY

Michael L. Fox

July 28, 1945 – October 29, 2025
Obituary of Michael L. Fox
IN THE CARE OF

Michael Louis Fox, formerly of Victoria, Texas, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on October 29, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born on July 28, 1945, in Victoria, TX, to Russel and Dorothy (Snooks) Jentry Fox, who preceded him in death.

He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1963 and earned his degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University in 1967. Mike served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, with his last tour of duty in Barbados, before his honorable discharge in 1974. He spent his career as a civil engineer. Mike lived his entire life in Texas and Louisiana, places he loved and called home. In his later years, he moved to Pennsylvania to be near his daughter Brandi and her family as he faced dementia.

Mike is survived by his daughter Brandi Fox Kunz (Derek) of Philadelphia; son Brent Fox of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Kamilah Fox, Elijah Fox, and Miles Kunz; brothers, Richard Fox (Shirley) of Victoria and Steve Fox (Julie) of Victoria; and his former wives, Gayle Wagner Fox, mother of Brandi and Brent, and Carolyn Cobena.

An avid athlete throughout his life, Mike's competitive spirit was legendary - including the time he arranged a helicopter ride between islands to ensure he could play in a Navy football game. He loved music, particularly Willie Nelson and Jimmy Buffet, and was known for his friendly, outgoing nature. Mike could strike up a conversation with anyone and never met a stranger, whether at a bar or anywhere else.

Friends are cordially invited to gather with the family for a visitation from 1 PM to 2 PM on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.

A graveside service will be at 2:30 pm at Resurrection Cemetery in Victoria, Texas, with Deacon Eddie Huse officiating. Mike will receive full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions in Mike’s memory may be made to The Caplan Family Caring Difference Fund at the Penn Memory Center at the University of Pennsylvania Health System, an invaluable resource to Brandi during her time caring for her dad. https://giving.apps.upenn.edu/fund?program=MED&fund=603924

Express your love and sympathy with a final tribute that will console the family and friends at the Visitation or Service.

Order Funeral Flowers Now
It is always appropriate, and often times recommended, sending flowers or plants to the family after the funeral services are over. During this period, phone calls and words of comfort taper off. Then, the heartfelt pain of a death in the family is really experienced for the first time. The arrival of a beautiful bouquet or living plant can be so uplifting during this stage of grief and loneliness. Realizing that others still care and remember even weeks after the services can be great comfort to those in mourning.
