Maria Martinez, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. She was born on December 25, 1943, to the late Gregorio Martinez and the late Tomasa Hernandez in Progresso, Coahuila, Mx. She is survived by her daughter, Lucila De Leon of Victoria, TX. Sons: Jose De Leon (Doris Garcia) of Victoria, TX, Alejo De Leon (Nohemi) of Edna, TX, sister: Esperanza Martinez of Weslaco, TX, brother: David Martinez (Mercedes) of Port Lavaca, TX. She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Jose De Leon, and her sister, Guadalupe Martinez
Visitation will begin Monday, May 18, 2026, at 5:00 PM at Angel Lucy’s Funeral Home, Victoria, TX, with a Holy Rosary and Liturgy of the Word to be recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 8:15 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 AM. Burial to follow at San Jose Cemetery in Bloomington, TX.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jose De Leon, Alejo De Leon, Alex De Leon, Joel De Leon, Antonio Marquez, and Esteban De Leon. Honorary pallbearers: Leo De Leon, Brianna Marquez, Tatyana De Leon, and Denisse Deleon.
