Lula Mae was born to Rev. Forest and Dallas King in Anahuac/Old River, Texas. She was affectionately called Granny by those that loved her. On August 1, 2025 she answered the Master’s call to Glory. She was married thirty nine years to her soulmate, Joe Carroll and to this union two children were born, Paula R. Williams and Eric King.
Lula Mae was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Paula R. Williams; sisters, Eddie Lessie Cheatham, Mary Ann Jones, Betty Jackson, Daisy Garner; brothers, Ricky King, Willie Ray King, David Lee King, Kenneth King, Felix King, J.L. King, Norris King; and a great-grandson, Ashton L. Williams.
She leaves the memories of her life to be cherished by her siblings, Brenda Walker, Shirley Williams and Forest King, Jr; grandchildren, Roosevelt Williams, III, Kendra Williams of Victoria, Texas and Jamone Williams, Sr. of Placedo, Texas; great-grandchildren, Whitney Jefferson, Christian Jefferson, Keanna Williams, Kai Williams, Jaden Terrell; great-great-grandchildren, Gaia Lane, Azaryah Sauseda, Sekani Sauseda, Zanavia Williams, Za’Drian Williams, Zarius Williams, Zaylyn Williams, Myles Williams.
Family and friends will gather for visitation Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM at St. Peter’s Baptist Church in Victoria, Texas. Honoring Lula Mae as pallbearers will be Ura Gipson, Marvin Williams, II, Josh Simmons, Rene Sauseda, Nickolas Bowers and Attrie Bowers. Honorary pallbearers are Roosevelt Williams, Jr., Whitney Jefferson, Christian Jefferson, Keanna Williams, Bailey Williams, Jamone Williams, Jr. Kadrien Williams, Kai Williams and Jaden Terrell.
