Larry Bruce Stallings of Victoria passed away peacefully in the early morning hours Monday, the 16th of June 2025 at the age of 71. Larry was born on the 12th of March 1954 in Ada, Oklahoma to Jim and Billie Stallings.
He graduated from Refugio High School where he met the love of his life, Sharon O’Bannon.
Larry was and will always be a Refugio Bobcat. After high school, Larry attended Texas A & I and then went to work for FESCO and then Quintana/Hilcorp, where he retired after 35 years.
Over the years, he was a Little League coach, a paramedic and he loved hunting, fishing and going to the casinos in Lake Charles. He loved gardening and woodworking. In Larry’s spare time he would volunteer at Citizens Medical Center.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Sharon O’Bannon Stallings; his children, son Curtis (Stef) Stallings; daughter, Callie (Ryan) Callisto and three grandchildren, Micah, Caleb and Katelyn Stallings.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Billie Stallings; brothers, Jeff and Kevin Stalling and his in-laws James and Wanda O’Bannon.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from ten o’clock until eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday the 23rd of June 2025 at Rosewood Funeral Chapel. The funeral service is scheduled for eleven o’clock with Pastor Clayton Lopez officiating.
Immediately following the service, guests are invited to greet the family during a reception to be held in the adjacent Events Room.
A graveside service will commence at two o’clock in the afternoon at the Oakwood Cemetery in Refugio off Toup Road.
Honoring Larry by serving as pallbearers will be Curtis Stallings, Mike O’Riley, Randy Knox, Chuck Daniels, Steve Fedler and Greg Hillegeist.
