Joyce Schaar Willemin Obituary
Joyce Schaar Willemin, aged 94, of Victoria, Texas, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in Victoria. She was born on May 31, 1931, in Victoria, Texas, to the late William Schaar and Elsie Dietzel.
Joyce enjoyed her time on the ranch, relishing the atmosphere of the hayfields during harvest season, and overseeing the cattle. She cherished camping trips with her family, had a passion for playing dominoes (often winning), and loved to ride through the park while enjoying ice cream. She married Melvin on December 31, 1951, in Victoria, Texas. Joyce was a lifelong rancher and worked as a Warehouse Associate for 20 years.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM with a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM, at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, located at 2535 Coletoville Rd, Victoria, TX 77905, with burial to follow at Coletoville Cemetery. A meal will be provided at the church after the burial. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Jonathan Willemin and Justin Bragg.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Melanie Bragg (Rick), of Crossville, Texas; her son, David Willemin (Debbie), of Victoria, Texas; her niece, Virginia Sikes, of Victoria, Texas; five grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Schaar and Elsie Dietzel; her husband, Melvin Willemin; and her brother, Calvin Schaar.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of South Texas.
