Eleanor Jo (Webber) Brumley, 85, of Victoria, TX, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of Thursday, January 30, 2025. She was born on May 3, 1939, in Knoxville, TN, Eleanor was the eldest of four children. She graduated from Knoxville East High School in 1957 and later relocated to Longview, TX, in 1976. There, she embarked on a successful journey in the franchise restaurant business, establishing five Western Sizzlin Steak House locations across Texas, including two in Longview and one each in Victoria, Corpus Christi, and Kingsville.
Eleanor was a devoted mother to her three children: Von Jeffrey Elliott, Lee Anna Maples, and James (Julie) Matthew Maples. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Austin (Cadie) Maples, Jeremy Elliott, Christy (Ryan) Elliott Pauly, Cameron Maples, Shana Elliott, and Grayson Maples, and as a great-grandmother to Dylan Maples, Carlyn Pauly, and Maci Pauly.
She lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, finding joy in writing letters to friends, reading People magazine, solving crossword puzzles, and spending time with her beloved companion, Boomer. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, C.H. and Theresa Webber; her brother, Julian Webber; her daughter, Lee Anna Maples; and her son, Von Elliott.
A heartfelt thank you to Harbor Hospice of Victoria and caregivers Janie Lopez, Yomara Charles, Debra Valenzuela, and Paula Padgett for their unwavering compassion and dedicated care during Eleanor’s final days.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
