Obituary of Diana J. Behrens
IN THE CARE OF

Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home

Diana J. Behrens, 84, of Olivia passed away to her heavenly home on April 21, 2025. Diana (or Granny for those that knew her) was born December 13, 1940, in Bath County, Virginia to Thomas and Mabel Grady McCune. She was raised in Virginia and graduated from Lord Botetourt High School. While visiting her sister in El Paso, she met the love of her life when attending Sunday School, which was the start of a nearly 64-year marriage. Together Diana and Willis moved to Port Lavaca, Texas later settling in Olivia. Together they raised three sons and watched 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren grow, which were all the light of her life. She enjoyed cooking and feeding anyone who came through her door, and if you left her house hungry, that was your own fault. Diana was a very loving and caring person, never met a stranger and loved to visit whether in person or on the phone; her nightly phone calls will be missed. She enjoyed sending greeting cards for every occasion, she would never miss a Birthday, holiday or when someone was ill. Diana was a member of Point Comfort Methodist Church, served on the U.M.W. and was on the bowling league.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Willis B. Behrens; sons, Joel Matthew Behrens (Renee’), John Thomas Behrens (Joan); sisters, Elizabeth Bennett, Nina Britts, Patricia Firestone; brother, Thomas McCune; grandchildren, Matthew Behrens, Mark Behrens (Victoria), Morgan Gearing, Holly Rader (Evan), Brooke Hochgraber (Brandon); and great-grandchildren, Braxton Hochgraber, Lane Behrens, Kynlee Behrens, Brendalyn Hochgraber, Levi Rader, and Baby Girl Rader on the way.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy Behrens; parents; sisters, Evelyn St.Claire, Hilda Brown, Charlotte Walton; and brother, James McCune.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 25, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Point Comfort Methodist Church with Pastor James Amerson officiating. Burial will follow in Olivia Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Matthew Behrens, Mark Behrens, Evan Rader, Brandon Hochgraber, Ruben Zarate, and Chance Deckard. Honorary Pallbearers are Pauline Adams, Holly Rader, Brooke Hochgraber, Victoria Behrens, Morgan Gearing, Braxton Hochgraber, Lane Behrens, Kynlee Behrens, Brendalyn Hochgraber, and Levi Rader.

Memorials can be made to Point Comfort Methodist Church, PO Box 787, Point Comfort, Texas

Express your love and sympathy with a final tribute that will console the family and friends at the Visitation or Service.

Order Funeral Flowers Now
It is always appropriate, and often times recommended, sending flowers or plants to the family after the funeral services are over. During this period, phone calls and words of comfort taper off. Then, the heartfelt pain of a death in the family is really experienced for the first time. The arrival of a beautiful bouquet or living plant can be so uplifting during this stage of grief and loneliness. Realizing that others still care and remember even weeks after the services can be great comfort to those in mourning.
