OBITUARY

Bobby Lee Faltesek Sr.

December 17, 1961 – June 4, 2025
Obituary of Bobby Lee Faltesek Sr.

Bobby Faltesek Sr., 63, passed away on June 4, 2025 with his family by his side. Bobby was born on December 17, 1961 to the late Victor Paul Faltesek and Darlene Ruth Howard Faltesek in Port Lavaca, TX.

After high school, he started his career in the oilfield and then went on to work at Brown and Root/Union Carbide as a carpenter. He retired to be a full time Popo in 2020.

He met his wife Phylis Faltesek in 1993. Bobby was an amazing husband, father, and Popo whose presence brought warmth, wisdom and comfort to everyone around him. Known for his generous heart, humorous spirit, and well-intentioned lectures, he touched the lives of everyone he met, usually with laughter.

He found joy in the outdoors and cherished his time spent hunting, fishing, and working in the yard. He was an avid Astros fan. Above all else, he loved being with family. Popo was his name, and chasing grandkids was his game. Whether he was taking them fishing, crabbing, attending sporting games or other activities, he always expressed how proud he was of both his kids and grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Phylis Faltesek; children, Tracy Foulds (Bill), Amy McDonald (James), Robin Hanselman (Jared), Bobby Faltesek Jr., Douglas Riggs (Martie), Sherry Barrera (Trino), and Erich Riggs; sisters, Laurie Alexander (David), Jeannie Elder; brother, Billy Faltesek (Sylvia); brother-in-law, John Williams; grandchildren, Peyton, Savannah, Averie, Madelyn, Madison, Makayla, Morgan, Kinley, Kristopher, Jax, Sloan and Haley; and sister-in-law, Teresa Weeks.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Williams.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 10-11 a.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. You are encouraged to dress in your favorite fishing or Astros attire. Burial will follow in Six Mile Cemetery. Following graveside services, please join the celebration of life at Drifters Hall.

Pallbearers are Bobby Faltesek Jr., Bill Foulds, James McDonald, Jared Hanselman, Doug Riggs, Erich Riggs, Trino Barrera, Kristopher Gonzales, Peyton Foulds, and Jax Barrera.

Express your love and sympathy with a final tribute that will console the family and friends at the Visitation or Service.

Order Funeral Flowers Now
It is always appropriate, and often times recommended, sending flowers or plants to the family after the funeral services are over. During this period, phone calls and words of comfort taper off. Then, the heartfelt pain of a death in the family is really experienced for the first time. The arrival of a beautiful bouquet or living plant can be so uplifting during this stage of grief and loneliness. Realizing that others still care and remember even weeks after the services can be great comfort to those in mourning.
