Antonio Villarreal, 82, of Victoria, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 6, 1943, in Victoria, he was the son of the late Francisco Villarreal and Antonia Aguayo.
A devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished great-grandfather, Antonio was the heart of his family. He shared a beautiful life with his late wife, Lydia Villarreal, and together they built a strong, faith-filled home rooted in love, laughter, and tradition. Her passing left a space in his heart that never quite healed, and now they are reunited in eternal peace.
Antonio is survived by his children, who were his greatest pride and joy: daughters Lucinda Arispe (Valentin) of Corpus Christi, Laura Villarreal of Victoria, and Liana Smolik (Kenneth) of Victoria; and sons Antonio Villarreal Jr. of Corpus Christi and Adrian Villarreal of Victoria. He also leaves behind his loving sister, Maria Guerra of Houston; brother Lupe Villarreal; 13 grandchildren: Aaron, Shantel, David, Joseph, Jacob, Bethany, Megan, Andres, Lesenia, Aurelio, Sammie, Ritchie, and Johnny ; and numerous great-grandchildren who will carry his memory forward with love and honor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lydia, his sister Carmen Driscoll, and his brothers Pedro, Joe, and Francisco Villarreal.
A Visitation will be held on June 13, 2025 from 5pm to 8pm with a Holy Rosary to begin at 6pm at Angel Lucy’s Funeral Home in Victoria, Texas.
Antonio will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his quiet strength, and the kindness he showed to everyone he met. Whether it was through his words or simply his presence, he made people feel seen, supported, and loved. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and in the family he loved so deeply.
Though he is no longer with us, the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the stories he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
