Anita Cardenas Nunez, age 81, of Victoria, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025. She was born on March 1, 1944, in Victoria, Texas, to the late Christobal Cardenas and Angelita Hernandez.

 

Anita’s life was marked by strength, resilience, and deep love for her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose generous spirit touched all who knew her. Anita found joy in the presence of her loved ones and took immense pride in her growing family.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Jimenez; her son, Frank Luna Jr. (Roxanne); her sister, Lucia Chavez of Victoria, TX; and her brother, Ramon Cardenas of Victoria, TX. She also leaves behind 20 beloved grandchildren, with one more on the way, as well as seven cherished great-grandchildren. Anita is also remembered by her former husband, Rogelio Zuniga.

 

Anita was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Mabel Reyes; her sons, Raynaldo Trinidad Jr., Ramon Trinidad, Richard Trinidad, Frank Trinidad, Peter Trinidad, Joe Garcia, and Favian Olvera Jr.; and her sister, Augustina Stewart.

 

Her legacy of love, sacrifice, and devotion will continue to live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.
